MAGISTRATES have ordered a driver to pay nearly £400 for using a mobile phone whilst he was behind the wheel.

Babatunde Aiyeola was driving in Cornwall when he was caught using a handheld device by police.

Court papers show Aiyeola, of Echelon Walk, Colchester, admitted the offence and was fined £220 by magistrates who met to consider his case in Bodmin last month.

Aiyeola, 34, was ordered to pay a further £178 and had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
