A COLCHESTER building consultancy firm held its annual charity football tournament which raised almost £2,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice.

A total of 16 teams, representing local business, took part in Ingleton Wood’s charity football tournament in an afternoon of “spirited competition” and support to the community.

Accounting specialists Scrutton Bland won the competition, defeating Richard Utting Associates in the “the hotly contested final fixture”.

Liz Baldwin, corporate and sponsorship fundraising manager for St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Thank you to Ingleton Wood for hosting their fundraising football tournament - it looks like a brilliant time was had by all.

“A big thank you, as well, to all the teams who took part and to everybody who supported the event. You have raised a fantastic amount for the hospice, which will make a big difference to patients under our care throughout Suffolk, Great Yarmouth & Waveney.”

A spokesman for Ingleton Wood thanked all who took part – either on the pitch or from the sidelines – and the Colchester Powerleague team for hosting and overseeing the afternoon of football.

St Elizabeth Hospice is a Suffolk charity, which every year helps care for more than 4,000 patients with progressive and incurable illnesses.
