COLCHESTER'S Lion Walk is set to host a surprise performance from 'Leave A Light On' singer-songwriter Tom Walker on Saturday.
Lion Walk Shopping Centre will welcome one of the biggest names in music for a live performance on the streets of the city.
Tom has become a social media revelation through his last-minute ‘live on the streets’ performances.
He has most recently revealed Colchester city centre as his next destination.
Tom shared the news on TikTok by announcing: “Colchester, I’m coming your way this weekend. We’re gonna be doing a gig at 11am and a gig at 1pm.
"It’s free, completely free of charge, so come down, have a watch, sing a few songs. It’s gonna be lovely. Colchester, I’ll see you Saturday.”
The trip to Colchester will give fans a chance to hear some of Tom’s biggest hits, plus a sneak preview of his upcoming album, I Am, which is due for release on September 20 this year.
The Scottish star has seen his Toms Towns tours go viral across social media, giving free performances in different locations across the towns and cities he visits.
Martin Leatherdale, centre manager at Lion Walk, said: “Obviously we’re delighted to hear Tom has just announced online his plan to come and visit us this Saturday as part of his viral social media series #Tomstowns.
"What a treat for our shoppers to have a private concert. It’s hugely unexpected and we’re really excited to see him.
"We know Colchester will give him a great reception. Come along and see us in the morning and get your spot ready.”
Part of the set will also include his Tom-bola attraction which provides on-the-spot prizes to lucky gig-goers.
Back in March, Tom visited Tamworth, playing live to huge crowds in the centre of the town while dedicating some of his hits, such as Just You And I, Burn, Head Underwater and Leave a Light On, to residents he had met during his time there.
