COLCHESTER City Carnival will return this month for a “multicultural musical extravaganza.”
Organised by the Colchester Diverse Communities Network (CDCN), the carnival will feature dances, games, DJ music, and fun activities for all.
There will also be a variety of stalls selling a range of cultural items and delicious food, ready from midday.
Berrifield Lawn at Firstsite will be transformed into a bustling marketplace where visitors can find clothing, jewellery, arts and crafts, and more from vendors representing different cultures worldwide.
Food stalls will sample delicious dishes from different countries and cultures, from traditional curries and stir-fries to desserts, snacks, fish and chips, burgers, and ice cream.
The carnival procession will be a colourful and lively display of cultural diversity accompanied by music and dance performances, including a Nepalese Band.
Udaibahadur Gurung, MBE, the Director of Colchester City Carnival, said: “This is a carnival that everyone will enjoy in a city transformed by culture, bringing us together to be happier, healthier, and excite, inspire to delight, and enrich our lives.”
The procession will begin at 12.45pm from Sir Isaac’s Walk beneath Jumbo water tower and will finish by 8pm.
It is a free Carnival and Fair on Saturday, July 13.
