HOSPICE bosses have announced the death of a popular pet cat.
Paddy became a favourite at St Helena Hospice's inpatient unit in Barncroft Close, Highwoods, after he moved in 11 years ago.
During his time there he helped to comfort people at the hospice along with their families and friends.
He even met Dermot O'Leary in 2019 when the TV presenter read his children’s book Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape to children at the hospice.
Hospice matron Niamh Eve said: “Our cat, Paddy, was very well loved by patients and their families, as well as staff and volunteers, for more than a decade.
“He brought so much comfort, warmth and love to all at St Helena, often curling up with patients on their beds or having a nap on a windowsill around the hospice.
“Paddy was an integral part of St Helena and was lucky to be loved by so many people. He will be sorely missed.”
Paddy died on July 5, held by hospice nurse Lauren Vincent and Dr Beata Kasznicka.
