BRIGHTLINGSEA Regatta celebrated the town’s nautical heritage with a weekend of “fun for everyone.”
There were races and challenges for sailors to show off their skills, as well as fun family activities for all ages.
There were several beach parties and BBQs, live entertainment provided by Pete Jezzard Jazz Band, and "spectacular" fireworks on Saturday.
The Women In Harmony choir group from St James’ Church closed the Regatta on Sunday with a concert for the RNLI.
Andy Gordon, chair of the Brightlingsea Regatta, shared details of the fun weekend.
He said: “The Regatta was opened by the mayor of Brightlingsea, and even though the weather was not the best, there was still plenty to do.
“There were numerous stalls selling everything from jewellery to fudge, and a wide range of food outlets from BBQs to Jamaican.
“The local sailing and rowing clubs offered a range of come and try taster sessions, for those who fancied a go at sailing or gig rowing."
He continued: “UCSC rowers even ran a competition on a rowing machine, with many people taking part.
“There were also rubber duck races and of course the spectacular fireworks display to close events on the Saturday night.”
