COLCHESTER Zoo has scooped a prestigious award for the second year in a row.
The zoo has been recognised in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2024 after also securing the award in 2023.
The award honours businesses that consistently earn good reviews, placing them among the top 10 per cent of listings around the world on Tripadvisor.
Zoo business development manager Melissa Dench said: “We would like to thank all of our dedicated visitors for their continued support.
"We are incredibly grateful for all of those who take the time to leave their feedback which not only helps others who may be planning a visit but also helps us to identify areas we can develop and improve.
"We strive to provide a first-class visitor experience to each and every one of our customers, so an award like this is very much appreciated, especially as we prepare to become a charity, known as Colchester Zoological Society, from January 1, 2025.”
Bosses at Tripadvisor congratulated the tourist attraction on winning the award which can only be achieved if a venue has a "memorable impact" on visitors.
Spokesman John Borish said: “Congratulations to Colchester Zoo on its recognition in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2024.
“Travellers’ Choice honours businesses that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence.
"This means you have made such a memorable impact on your visitors that many of them took the time to go online and leave a great review about their experience.
"People rely on Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice seal to help them navigate the myriad of things to see, eat and do across the globe.
"We hope this recognition continues to drive business to you in 2024 and beyond.”
Every visitor to Colchester Zoo helps to assist Colchester Zoological Society, which supports conservation projects in the UK and around the world.
Without loyal supporters, they would not be able to provide much-needed funds which help to care for wildlife and wild places.
