A rising Colchester musician is set to release her debut EP next month, backed by a member of a famous 2000s rock band.
Emma Sampson creates music under the name Flores Blue and will release her debut EP Entertain on August 30 on No Roads Records.
The songwriter's debut project was produced by Jesse Quin, the bassist of popular band Keane.
So far, the artist has released the track Cold, Hard Running Ground, and the second track from the EP, Station, last Friday.
Flores Blue's music includes guitar and serene vocals, and is inspired by the American artist Soccer Mommy and 90s alternative rock.
The indie rock artist recorded at Jesse's Old Jet recording studio which is based at a disbanded US airbase in Suffolk.
Jesse said: "With the sheer number of songs in the world, it’s really difficult to write anything that feels new but that is also instantly memorable.
"Emma has that gift."
Flores Blue appeared at Colchester Arts Centre last week and will be performing live at the Britten Pears Arts at Snape Maltings, in Suffolk, on August 29 and the Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds on September 7.
