THE owner of new wig focused hair salon Star Hair and Beauty has made the "emotional decision" to sell just one month after its opening party.
The salon, which focuses on wig cutting and fitting, first opened in March this year and held its opening party on June 15.
Salon owner and qualified hairdresser Jacob Tan runs two businesses, including Star Hair and Beauty, and said he had to sell the salon due to issues with staffing.
“The main reason we’re giving up the salon, albeit a very sad and emotional decision, is workload and contracts taking me away from the salon for another 12 months,” he said.
The salon is located just outside White Colne on Colchester Road, with a large parking area around the back.
The building is a fully renewable leasehold, detached property.
The sale includes all fixtures and fittings, as well as the stock of wigs.
Mr Tan said: “I’m very sad to be selling,
“We were so excited at the start, but then the juggling started,
“It was my dream for so many years, but I’ve realised that juggling multiple things isn’t my character and we just couldn’t carry on.”
Salon hairdresser and world hairdressing championship winner Neil Drake is prepared to remain at the salon a few days a week after it sells, to train new owners in wig selection, cutting and finishing.
Mr Tan said he told staff he had made the decision to sell before the official opening party in June.
“It was a memory making event - people thought our tears were tears of joy,” he said.
