A Colchester man has admitted two counts of assault after appearing in court.
Anis Ben Ahmed, 39, of George Williams Way, Colchester, was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of sexual assault and one count of criminal damage at a Colchester pub.
The alleged incident happened on April 20, 2024, at the Artilleryman pub in Artillery Street.
Ben Ahmed admitted the assault charges and to causing criminal damage to a pub window, valued at about £200, Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard on July 25.
He denies two charges of sexual assault.
Following the alleged incident, the defendant was charged by Essex Police and released on conditional bail.
Ben Ahmed will remain on conditional bail, which means he will not be allowed to go to the pub or contact witnesses.
A trial for the sexual assault charges is due to be held at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on April 9, 2025.
