A POPULAR restaurant and bar has announced its forthcoming closure next month.

The Lion, in High Street, Earls Colne, took to Facebook last Thursday to announce that its last day of trading will be August 4.

The business is known for its terrace, kitchen and bar, and serves classic pub meals and pizzas in a large wood fired pizza oven.

A Facebook post said: “We regret to inform you that  august 4 will be our last trading day and the doors will be closed after this day.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us in the challenging circumstances we have found ourselves in.

“Harrison and the team would like to invite you all down on August 4 or any time before to say goodbye and to have a drink with you all.

“See you all around.”
