COLCHESTER Zoo is looking for new volunteers to join the team at the venue.

The popular attraction is on the hunt for a new ‘zoo host’.

The zoo has said the volunteering opportunity has multiple positions available.

The role responsibilities entail answering visitor questions, providing visitors with feedback methods, supporting staff with queue management and assisting with special events.

Applicants must be available a minimum of one day per week and must be available at weekends and during school holidays.

They must also be 18 years old.

A spokesman said: “Our mission at Colchester Zoo is to give guests a great visitor experience. If you love our zoo and want to be a part of it and you have time to offer, becoming a Zoo Host could be just the thing for you.

“Our commitment to excellent customer service is at the heart of this role, we are proud of our zoo and the conservation work we do and you will be at the forefront of sharing that enthusiasm with our guests.”

If successful, the volunteer will get complimentary food and drink when working, a discount on Animal Experiences, free parking and more.

The closing date is September 8.
