A THEATRE company is bringing its tour of a beloved Beatrix Potter story to Colchester.
Quantum Theatre and Frederick Warne and Co are presenting a stage adaptation of The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck.
The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck was written and illustrated by popular children’s author Beatrix Potter, and first published in 1908.
Almost as popular as the first of Potter’s ‘Little Books’, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Jemima’s story is a warning about going into the unknown, with hints of irony and humour.
Michael Whitmore’s new adaptation is packed full of songs, action and drama, with a score by Gideon Escott.
The play will be coming to Ardleigh’s Green Island Gardens on August 10, running from 1.30pm to 3pm with a ten-minute interval.
As its an outdoor production, Quantum Theatre encourages guests to bring foldaway chairs, blankets and a picnic, and to dress appropriately for the weather.
Adult tickets are £16, children’s tickets are £11, and concessions are £12.
There are also two family tickets available, for two adults and two children at £43, and two adults and three children at £49.
Colchester is just one of the show’s 18 stops around the country.
