AN international management consulting firm with more than 5,000 global employees is moving its headquarters to Essex University’s Colchester campus.

MSX International, a management consultant firm with employees in 60 countries and a yearly revenue of more than $1billion, is relocating in a move scheduled for August 14.

The firm will move from Colchester’s Octagon in Middleborough to Essex University’s Knowledge Gateway.

The firm, which has been based in the city for more than 30 years, works with automotive manufacturers on an international scale, including brands such as Ford, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Hyundai.

The Knowledge Gateway, on Nesfield Road, is home to 20 companies and an innovation centre which supports 50 start-ups as well as other small businesses.

David Branchflower, group financial controller at MSX International, said: “Having previously leased office space there, we are familiar with the excellent working environment the site offers.

“We have also previously collaborated with the university to support student placements and courses, and are keen to build relationships with other businesses at the Knowledge Gateway to explore opportunities for future collaborations.

“Being on their doorstep will make this much easier.”

MSX also required office space more suited to its future needs, including desk space for up to 50 staff at any one time - in line with the company’s flexible and hybrid working policy.

MSX also has numerous clients based in the surrounding area

Jamie Burns, head of operations at the Knowledge Gateway, said: “We are so excited to be welcoming MSX to our landmark building on Parkside.

“MSX is a global leader which will bring so much to the Knowledge Gateway and the wider university business eco-system.”

MSX will be moving into the newly completed £10.7million Clingoe House at Parkside, situated at the landmark entry position of the Knowledge Gateway.

There is also a Parkside Office Village, the Innovation Centre, the Essex Business School and award-winning parkland just a short walk away from the technology park.

Further space is available at Clingoe House with suites available from 1,873 sq ft to 32,432 sq ft.
