COLCHESTER United will host Premier League club Brentford in the Carabao Cup second round.
Danny Cowley's side will entertain the Bees later this month at the JobServe Community Stadium, following tonight's draw.
The tie is a repeat of the second-round tie between the two clubs that took place in the same competition in 2022, which Brentford won 2-0.
The tie is the U's reward for their penalty shoot-out win over League One side Reading, on Tuesday night.
Carabao Cup remains regionalised in the early rounds with the draw split into a southern and northern section until the the third round.
Round-two ties will take place in the week commencing August 26.
Colchester booked their place in the second round with a penalty shoot-out win over Reading.
The tie finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, with the U's winning 4-3 on spot-kicks.
Goalkeeper Matt Macey saved from both Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and Amadou Mbengue in the shoot-out and the U’s scored all four of their penalties, to progress.
