A MANNINGTREE musician who recently signed to a record label is set to go on tour with another emerging Colchester band.
Ben Brown will be joining The Meffs for a string of live shows throughout August and September.
Ben, 34, is already going from strength to strength as he’s signed with record label Xtra Mile Recordings, released his debut EP, and supported singer-songwriter Frank Turner on tour.
The Meffs are also enjoying a successful period, they supported Kings of Leon at British Summer Time Hyde Park, and will support rocker Alice Cooper in October.
Ben will join the band on a nine date UK tour which kicks off at the Soundhouse in Leicester on Friday.
They will also visit Hastings, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Bathgate, Newcastle Under Lyme, Stowmarket, Milton Keynes and Swansea which will end the tour on September 22.
This comes after Ben revealed the new music video for his latest single, Kathmandu, lifted from the EP.
Ben was invited to record some songs with Frank Turner after the acclaimed musician watched Ben perform at his neighbour’s barbecue.
Ben then spent time recording in Frank’s music studio.
Ben spoke about the sessions and said: "Many laughs were had at the recording and listening back to the performances.
"You can really hear how comfortable I had become in Frank's garden studio.”
