ARMED officers have attended an address in Gunn Lane, Colchester, as Essex Police respond to an incident.
Two police vehicles, including a dog unit, were stationed in East Street at about 7.15pm this evening.
A third police vehicle then drove under blue lights along Station Road and then down Gunn Lane.
An armed police officer got out of the car and stood at the junction between Gunn Lane and Moorside as two other officers then approached a property.
The armed officer then joined them, telling a member of the press it was a “sensitive” situation.
Officers were at the address for about five minutes before leaving the scene.
The two police cars in East Street then also left.
One of the police cars then attended an address in St Andrew’s Avenue before driving to Alefounder Close, Greenstead, at about 7.27pm.
The two other police cars, including the dog unit which was stationed on East Street, then drove to Greenstead Community Centre, Hawthorn Avenue.
It is not known whether the incident in Gunn Lane is related to the police’s attendance at addresses in St Avenue’s Avenue, Alefounder Close, and Hawthorn Avenue.
The Gazette has contacted Essex Police to request clarity on the situation and what the incident involved.
