A Colchester music event which supports the homeless is returning next month.
Pick of the Litter, organised by Litter of Kings and Friends, is set to take place on Saturday, September 7 at The Queen Street Brewhouse.
This will be the third time the annual event has been held.
Litter of Kings and Friends was created in 2019 by Justin Lee Jones and Peter Turner after their band, Litter of Kings, disbanded.
The duo wanted to create a platform to showcase original music and support the homeless community.
The first Pick of the Litter was then held in 2021.
A spokesperson for Litter of Kings and Friends said: "Litter of Kings & Friends is a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting local original music.
"Through (our) quarterly events and annual Pick of the Litter festival, (we) provide a stage for emerging artists and bands to showcase their talent."
The September event is free to attend and donations will be taken on the day via a card machine.
Performances will be made by Simon Craze, Annie Maguire, Chris Wilkinson, Millie Kirkpatrick, Pleasant Peasant, Sinéad Orme, Panama City, Woody Pearce, False Colours, Bethany Sin, and Sketchead.
Justin Lee Jones said: "We are incredibly proud to be supporting Musicians Supporting the Homeless for the second year running.
"Music has the power to bring people together and make a real difference in the lives of others.
"We are excited to see the impact this event will have on the local community."
Mr Jones, alongside Mr Turner, also hosts a podcast where they interview nearby musicians and artists, review events, and discuss the music scene.
The podcast won a Panic Award in 2022 for Best Radio Show/Podcast.
Mr Turner added: "Our podcast allows us to delve deeper into the local music scene.
"We’re passionate about supporting emerging talent and giving them a platform to share their music with a wider audience."
This year's event will once again support Musicians Supporting the Homeless, a charity founded by Danny Hiles to raise awareness and funds for the homeless through music.
