THE Gazette has had an exclusive sneak peek into the new Colchester Home Bargains shop which is set to open at 8am tomorrow morning.
The site, which is located at Lightship Way, is a massive store spanning 36,000sq ft.
It stocks a range of products, including homeware, health and beauty products, sweets, snacks drinks, fresh and frozen food, and more.
It was recently revealed that the retailer which has more than 600 outlets across the UK, has invested £1 million into the new branch.
Home Bargains has also revealed the business will be donating £2,000 to the Home Start Colchester charity to highlight its “commitment to positive change and support”.
There is already a smaller Home Bargains in Turner Rise Retail Park, but this new branch will have some very special extra additions.
This second Home Bargains boasts a bakery, café and garden centre.
It has also created 90 jobs for the area.
You can view a video of the Home Bargains below, the song is called Mornings by Jeff Kaale.
As you walk inside the store, you’ll be taken back by simply how big it is, there are many different aisles to peruse.
It is easy to imagine that some aisles will be more popular than others, given that there is a whole aisle dedicated for back to university and school shoppers.
There are also many aisles dedicated to seasonal displays, so if you want to start shopping for Halloween or Christmas already, then you are in luck.
Signage in the café area suggests that customers will be able to enjoy a selection of hot rolls for £1.99, a cup of tea for £1, cakes from £1.49, coffee for £1.49, and a hot dog for 99p.
The bakery section which can be found near the fruit and veg towards the left hand of the shop, has a selection of burger brioches, baguettes, donuts, and more.
When venturing outside to the garden centre which is named Garden World at Home Bargains, there are many different plants, plant pots, and garden ornaments on display.
You can also purchase compost and garden chairs in this area.
To find out more, you can visit the new Home Bargains tomorrow once it opens at 8am.
