AN Indian street food café chain is closer to opening after shop sign were put up.
After submitting a planning application to Colchester Council to open a branch in Colchester, it is now confirmed Chaiiwala will be opening a new café in the city's High Street.
The business is taking over 133 High Street, the former Royal British Legion building.
Chaiiwala offers a range of snacks and chai tea.
The business was first founded in 1927 in New Delhi but has now spread worldwide after a re-launch in 2016, with the first store in the UK opening in Leicester.
Shopfront signage has now been set up, which promises "a sip of the east".
It also suggests the café will serve hot and cold drinks, all day breakfast, buns, rolls, wraps, "street eats", bombay bowls, roti, and desserts.
Chai tea is an Indian Indian beverage which is popular in South Asia, it is usually made of tea mixed with spices including cinnamon and cardamom.
The business is also accepting CVs as it has store managers, shift supervisors, kitchen staff, and team member roles available.
Anyone interested is encouraged to email Colchester@chaiiwala.co.uk.
