It's by no means recent, but Colchester's impressive scene for music, arts, and culture continues to grow.

I've showcased thousands of events through the Keep Colchester Cool project I launched in 2009.

Now, I'll bring the best events to you each week which I recommend checking out.

Here are my five recommendations for music, arts, and culture in Colchester in the week ahead.

Enjoy an afternoon of live electronic music in the unique setting of Cuckoo Farm Studios on Saturday afternoon as they host their final ‘live’ event of the year.

The lineup includes Maxwell Owain Reynish, Nukieopatra, Dysfurik, John Bowers, MINDINFECTEDFUTUREFACTION, Bada Düüm, and Pyrokynesys, all delivering innovative sounds.

Starts at 2pm. Free Entry (Donations welcomed and shared among the artists).

On Sunday, Colchester Arts Centre presents its latest Edgelands event, curated by Stafford Glover.

This is a night of experimental music with Neo Geodesia and QUBIK.

Neo Geodesia, the project of Saphy Vong, blends the sounds of his Cambodian heritage with the punk and grindcore influences of his youth in France.

QUBIK, aka Matt Gates, offers a kaleidoscopic mix of post-house loops, glitchy beats, and lush synths.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £7 / £6 concessions.
