A COLCHESTER primary school has entered a new chapter in its history after joining an academy trust.
Langenhoe Primary School, in Bracken Way, Abberton, started the new school term as part of the LIFE Education Trust.
It is the latest in a string of Colchester schools to join the multi-academy trust which supports schools across Essex and London.
The school, which has more than a 100 pupils on its roll, was rated good by Ofsted when it was latest inspected in January 2023.
Executive Headteacher Sarah Stevenson said: "We are very excited to be joining LIFE and know that it will provide opportunities for colleagues and pupils to flourish.
"Being part of LIFE brings fresh ideas, investment in resources and a huge network to support the school."
Julian Dutnall, CEO of LIFE Education Trust, also welcomed Langenhoe Primary to the Trust, and said: "We are delighted to have Langenhoe join the trust and welcome all colleagues, governors, parents, carers, and pupils to LIFE.
"Our mission is to build great learning communities where children flourish, and we look forward to bringing this ethos for education to the local communities.”
Last year both Chappel Primary School and Fordham Primary School joined the trust.
Holy Trinity School in Fordham Heath is also part of the trust.
