A BIKER claims he was "driven at" by an Audi following a crash on a busy A road in Essex.

Shocking footage of the incident has been shared on social media which appears to show the Audi attempting to leave the scene on the A127 as Frank Pettigrew, the biker, tries to make him stay.

According to Frank, from Langdon Hills, the incident began when the Audi driver was involved in a crash with two motorbikes as they were filtering through lanes towards the Progress Road junction.

Frank claims the Audi driver then attempted to leave the scene after threatening him, despite Frank standing in the road to block the car leaving.

Essex Police has confirmed an investigation has been launched into a “minor collision and disturbance” and is reviewing all footage of the incident.

Frank, who says he will now give up riding his motorbike after the incident, said: “He looked at us as we were filtering through, almost implying you aren’t getting in front of me, so nudged us.

“He then tried to carry on driving down the road, but he was forced to stop by the traffic, and eventually pulled over as we continuously asked for his details.

“He got out, got aggressive, intimated and threatened me.

“The driver then got back in his car, and tried to drive off, which is when he intentionally drove at me.“

Frank hadn’t been on his bike for two years, and this was his first time back on his beloved bike.

He added: “It is the nail in the coffin for me. There is no respect on the roads.

“I don’t want to ride anymore. This has stopped me for good and I have put my bike online for sale.”

Footage of the incident is currently being reviewed by Essex Police.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers were called to the A127 between Rayleigh Weir and Progress Road at around 11.15am on Sunday, September 1 following reports of a minor collision and a disturbance.

“The disturbance involved the drivers of a BMW and two motorbikes.

“Officers are reviewing footage of the incident to determine whether any offences have taken place.”
