THE A12 was closed for 30 minutes this afternoon after recovery vehicles needed access to the road to clear vehicles involved in a crash.
All lanes were stopped on the A12 Northbound at J29, Ardleigh, after reports of an incident.
The A12 road was closed for about thirty minutes at noon due to an earlier incident on the A12 Colchester Bypass Northbound from J29 A120, the Crown interchange, to Turnpike Close, Ardleigh.
This has caused queues on the Colchester bypass, congestion by the J27, the Avenue of Remembrance roundabout, and further delays in the north of Colchester.
One driver said it took them two hours to get from Chelmsford to Colchester after getting caught in the delays.
UPDATE: Delays have eased following the earlier "accident" at J29.
