Police arrested two men in 30 minutes following a robbery in Colchester High Street.
At about 1.45am on Saturday September 7, police received a call stating suspects had robbed a victim of their wallet outside the Rolex shop in High Street before leaving the scene towards Crouch Street.
Within minutes, one of the cards in the stolen wallet was used in a nearby shop.
Officers spoke to the victim and traced the suspects within half an hour of the incident being reported to us.
Now a 54-year old man of no fixed abode and a 44-year-old man from Colchester have been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
The 44-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud.
The 54-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.
Chief Inspector Ella Latham said: “Thanks to the quick work of our officers we have been able to return this wallet to the victim and arrest two people in connection with the incident.
“The two suspects remain in custody and our work is ongoing to make sure this investigation will be as strong as possible for the Crown Prosecution Service.”
