A DRIVER has said he was left "flabbergasted" after capturing the shocking moment a fellow motorist went the wrong way on a Colchester roundabout.

The video, captured by TikTok user Dills Dashcam, shows the driver turning right into oncoming traffic once they enter the roundabout.

The driver in question was coming up from Harwich Road onto the roundabout along St Andrews Avenue.

The footage shows the driver going the wrong way around the roundabout, with drivers coming around luckily avoiding the motorist.

Speaking to the Gazette, the TikToker said: “I was absolutely flabbergasted at how they can mess up with such a simple direction.

“They were in the right position so I assumed they would be going the right way, I’ve never seen anyone go the wrong way on that roundabout.

“Thankfully the oncoming vehicles stopped, and as the other cars went out of shot there was a lot of beeping and hand gestures as I watched this clown go the wrong way round the roundabout.”

The TikToker has millions of views on his page and regularly posts videos of crazy drivers who make the wrong move.

He has more than 5,000 followers and over 500,000 likes on his dashcam disasters.

This is not the first time he or other drivers have witnessed a similar incident, with a number of drivers being caught driving the wrong way around the infamous North Station Roundabout.

Ward councillor for Greenstead, Tim Young, was also left stunned at the footage.

He said: “It is a bit worrying this has happened as it is clear signage and all motorists should be cautious when they are approaching these roundabouts as it can be confusing.

“People should continue to drive with due care and attention and hopefully this is a one-off incident, and they realise what they’ve done.

“For people who don’t know the area very well, I have been told it can be quite confusing.”
