A FORMER Colchester student turned music sensation is set to appear on a huge American talk show.
Oliver Fox, better known as Oli, studied at Colchester Sixth Form in 2013, and is one half of the rising alt-pop duo, Good Neighbours.
Comprised of Oli and Scott Verill, Good Neighbours has gone massively viral throughout this year.
The East-London based duo released their debut single ‘Home’ earlier this year which has received 350 million global streams and is certified platinum in Australia, gold in New Zealand, and silver in the UK.
They have also released other singles and performed many sold-out shows in different countries such as Australia and America.
Now, the pair will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live, at 11:35pm Eastern Time in the US, which essentially means the early hours of September 11 in the UK.
Jimmy Kimmel is a popular comedian who interviews A-list Hollywood celebrities, and each episode has a musical performance.
A spokesman for Good Neighbours commented on their music.
They said: “Optimism and connection are also key ingredients of Good Neighbours.
“Their music is an amalgamation of their emotive indie influences of yesteryear such as MGMT, Passion Pit and Bleachers.
“They came together to create an indie-euphoric dreamscape of sound and vision for a subdued generation.
“Live, they bring the inclusive party to fans every time - racing through the London gig circuit and beyond.”
Good Neighbours is set to embark on a sold-out UK tour in October.
The band is also releasing a self-titled debut EP on October 4 via Polydor Records.
