HUNDREDS of feet pounded the pavements as a popular village running event returned.

The annual Dedham Run was back with more than 700 runners taking part.

Kicking off at 11am last Sunday, with the 3k starting ten minutes later, the 10k run saw a route start opposite Parsons Field before leading runners through and around the village.

BBQ, refreshments and entertainment were available on the playing field, including bouncy castles, an ice-cream van, and a tea and cake stand run by the local school's Parent Group.

The Dedham Run is at least 25 years old and offers a great day for all the family while raising money for the Dedham Primary School and other youth organisations central to the village’s community.

Event organiser Ian Hull said: "This is a fantastic community-led event which requires the help of nearly 50 volunteer marshals on the day.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank each member of the Dedham Run Committee, who give up their time throughout the year to organise this event.

"Last year, we donated £5,200 to the school which we hope to beat this year."

Organisers gave big thanks to sponsors Greenscape Energy, Fisher Jones Greenwood Solicitors, Fenn Wright Estate Agents, Ramsey Health at The Oaks Hospital, Cups Direct, Reflex-18, Tim Williams Foot Surgeon, Amy Horne PT for the group warm-up, Black Brook Car Home and many more.
