A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of theft following an incident at a store in the city centre this morning.
Essex Police rushed to a store in Priory Walk, Colchester, after receiving reports of shoplifting.
Officers attended the scene and a police car was spotted just outside the area in Short Wyre Street.
A 25-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop, going equipped for theft, and common assault.
The man remains in police custody.
