POLICE have said they closed a section of Balkerne Hill due to a welfare concern.
Officers attended the scene shortly after 8pm on Monday evening and blocked the southbound side of Balkerne Hill which heads into Colchester city centre.
Two police officers were on the scene and had set out cones to redirect traffic.
An Essex Police spokesman has released a statement to say the closure was due to a welfare concern.
He said: “We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in Balkerne Hill, Colchester shortly after 8.05pm on Monday 23 September.
“Officers attended and the man was left in the care of medical professionals.”
Anyone who is struggling with their mental health should call Samaritans on 116 123.
