CRAWLEY Town boss Scott Lindsey has departed the Sky Bet League One club to become the new head coach at MK Dons.

Lindsey oversaw the Red Devils' promotion to the third tier last season via the League Two play-offs, during which they beat MK Dons in the semi-finals.

He leaves with them lying 18th in the table to take charge of a Dons outfit who were left managerless by Mike Williamson's exit last week to take charge at Carlisle.

MK Dons are currently 19th in League Two.

Lindsey said in a statement on the club's official website: "I'm so excited to be joining this wonderful football club.

"I think it's clear to everyone just how much potential there is at MK Dons and I'm thrilled to be joining Stadium MK to help achieve it.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Liam (Sweeting, the sporting director) and Fahad (Al Ghanim, the chairman) to build an ambitious and exciting football team for the people of Milton Keynes to get behind.

"I can't wait to get stuck in with the players and look forward to meeting the supporters as soon as possible."
