DADS who walked 20 kilometres for the Lexden Springs Appeal, have completed their challenge and raised their target amount for the charity.

The dads set off for Gloucestershire, as they completed their 20km walk in the Forest of Dean on Saturday.

The nine dads all have children with special educational needs and the Lexden Springs Appeal is an appeal which directly benefits some of their children.

David Wiseman, one of the nine who completed the walk said: "We were all glad the weather was nice on the day, which meant we could enjoy it more.

"We were all pleased to get to the end, there were a few aching legs. Hitting our target was the icing on the cake, it really makes us proud to raise so much for a charity that a number of dads have access to.

"It's nice to see the donations coming from so many people."

The team have now gone past their £1,000 target.

The appeal is a charity which helps fund the Lexden Springs Residential Special School, which will use the money to provide things which are not within their budget.
