YOUNGSTERS have been exploring a world beyond our own as they painted up a storm for a space themed event.
To mark International Space Week, Firstsite held a special event for children to paint their own space decoration.
Parents brought their children along to see what their painting skills had to offer, as they expressed their creativity.
International Space Week runs until Thursday (October 10) and this event saw children choose their special space clay mould and paint in whichever way they liked.
The event aimed at children aged four and over, saw a lot of excited children do their best space decoration with a smile on their faces.
Parents were also encouraged to get involved and they could also paint a clay mould if they wished.
The hour long session came on the same day as the closing of Firstsite's Lunar Lullabies exhibition.
The Lunar Lullabies exhibition was inspired by Colchester's very own Jane Taylor, the author of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
It marked 200 years since the Colchester born author died and this commemorated her work.
