Colchester boxer Lewis Richardson, who recently bagged a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, was the guest speaker at a business showcase event.

The Milsom Business Showcase 2024 was held on October 3 in Dedham at Milsom Hotels and Restaurants' Talbooth restaurant.

The event saw the Olympian, was was labelled "an incredible ambassador for Colchester" share his journey to the Olympics, touching on mindset, challenges, and future plans.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Lewis shared his impressive journey to the Olympics, touching on mindset, challenges, and his plans for the future in a way that resonated with business professionals.

"Though maybe not all of us could handle the pressure and discipline of dropping KGs to make weight for a boxing match.

"The audience was captivated, with many insightful questions, though we couldn't get to all of them.

"It's safe to say Lewis is an incredible ambassador for Colchester."

Alongside Richardson's talk, the event also spotlighted East of England charity, Ormiston Families, who shared moving stories of families affected by imprisonment and the support they provide.
