OFFICERS have reported two drivers for driving without due care and attention following patrols of the district's roads.
Officers from Colchester Special Constabulary have been carrying out patrols, on the look out for drivers who aren't using the roads in the correct way and putting others at risk of danger.
This resulted in a number of vehicles and bicycles owners being stopped and spoken to for a wide range of reasons such driving without lights, driving without care and using a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
Drivers were given words of advice at the roadside, with two drivers reported for driving without due care and attention.
Due to being in an unsafe condition one vehicle was issued a prohibition notice, with help from our Roads Policing Unit.
This notice prevents the vehicle being lawfully driven until it has passed an MOT and is no longer posing a hazard to other road users.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Road safety is something take seriously in Essex and if you are putting others at risk expect to be caught and prosecuted."
