A LARGE mobile home has caused delays for motorists as it blocked off a road in Tiptree.
Essex Police attended Kelvedon Road after receiving reports of a mobile home getting stuck in the road when it was being turned around at 12.20pm, today.
A road closure was put into place and traffic began to build-up in the area which is right next to the water tower.
Kerry Russell, of Tiptree, was driving to Perrywoods garden centre with her two children at the time.
She said: “We live nearby in Tiptree and myself and two of my children were just popping to Perrywoods around the corner from where we live.
“At first we thought there must be traffic lights as the traffic was stationary and building up near the water tower.
“We soon realised there was a bigger problem when cars were turning around in front of us.
“As we got closer, we could see the large static caravan sitting diagonally across both sides of the road and seemingly stuck.
“It’s not something you expect to see.
“We concluded it might be there for some time and chose to turn around and go another route to Perrywoods.
“We chose to go home and walk to Perrywoods - we had to cross the road to pass the caravan - at this point we noticed the police had arrived."
Essex Police has confirmed the incident has now been resolved and the road was reopened at 1.30pm.
