A TRIO of folk musicians are staging a free show this week at a historic Colchester church.
Colchester fiddle player David Shepherd – of internationally acclaimed English folk group Blowzabella - has formed a trio with Essex musicians Kevin May, on fiddle, and Stuart Moffat, on guitars and bouzouki, who are both from the band Kegs.
After the trio’s first show in Castle Hedingham in September, the group are now performing at Colchester’s St Leonard’s Church on Hythe Hill this Saturday.
The gig will include European influenced traditional tunes, as well as some self-written pieces and will take place from 2pm to 4pm.
Entry is free with donations welcome for the Friends of the Church, as well as a retiring collection for the folk trio.
