A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital with "serious injuries" after a 'fall from height' on the A12.

Emergency services were called to the scene this morning after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman.

Essex Police attended and closed the road, with the East of England Ambulance Service also attending.

It sent an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, the Hazardous Area Response Team and the air ambulance to the incident.

A spokesman has confirmed a woman was taken to hospital.

“The patient fell from height and suffered serious injuries. She was transported by air to Addenbrookes Hospital for treatment," a spokesman said.

The A12 was closed during the incident and reopened at about 12.30pm.
