Comedian Lucy Porter is bringing her new show to Colchester next month.

She will perform her 'No Regrets!' show at Colchester Arts Centre on Saturday, November 9 as part of her national tour.

It will focus on the theme of regrets and will see Lucy exploring her own experiences.

Porter, a familiar face on UK panel shows and the star of the stage version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, will address her numerous regrets.

These include disastrous dates, professional mishaps, and parenting failures.

Porter will also look at regrets that many share, such as failing to maintain a work-life balance, realising the inadequacy of clapping for the NHS, and allowing television personalities to become politicians.

A spokesperson for the show said: "How does regret tie in with guilt and shame?

"As a middle-aged, middle-class, left-leaning ex-Catholic, guilt is one of Lucy’s top five hobbies (along with going to the garden centre, doing jigsaws, making bread and watching subtitled foreign dramas on Netflix. She’s also ashamed of all these hobbies.)

"It’s not all negative though.

"If you regret something, you can use it to change your ways: see the thing you regret as your rock bottom, and let it spur you on to become a better person.

"Lucy looks at how she can use shameful or annoying elements from her past to change her future."

The comedian will ponder how regrets can be used as a catalyst for change.

She will reflect on her past and consider how it could shape her future.

The show promises to be a mix of humour, introspection, and life lessons, as Porter aims for a year with no regrets.

The tour will span numerous locations, having kicked-off in Maidenhead's Norden Farm in September, and ending at Reading's South Street Arts Centre on April 5.

Tickets for the Colchester show are now on sale at boundandgaggedcomedy.com.

In addition to her comedy career, Porter is known for her stint in EastEnders, and her podcast 'Fingers on Buzzers', which she hosts with The Chase’s Vixen, Jenny Ryan.
