A West Mersea shop could launch a new takeaway business if plans get the green light.
The Premier Convenience Store, on the High Street, hopes to open a pizza takeaway.
The takeaway would cover 215sqm, with a customer service area, food prep section for workers, a wood-fired pizza oven, WCs and a kitchen.
No new car parking would be created, the site would keep its three current spaces.
The takeaway will create three full-time jobs and two part-time roles.
It is proposed that it would be open Monday to Sunday, from 12noon to 9pm.
Colchester Council will rule on the plans.
