A NINE-YEAR-OLD piano prodigy will be performing as part of St Botolph’s Music Society’s first concert of the 2024 to 2025 season

Bethany Reynolds, who is based in Essex, began playing piano aged five, and is currently studying for her first performance diploma after achieving her Grade 8 last December.

Bethany has recently played in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, at Saffron Hall, and at the 1901 Arts Club.

While Bethany's concerto debut was made with the Wivenhoe Orchestra in May and she was also selected to play a spotlight performance with Ignas Maknickas as part of the Roman River Festival.

Bethany will be performing the second movement (Andante) of Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and the orchestra will be playing music including Malcolm Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances, Benjamin Britten’s Soirées Musicales, and Shostakovich’s Festive Overture.

St Botolph’s Music Society was founded in 1966 by Colin Nicholson and Rodney Tompkins and is named after the church in which the orchestra regularly rehearses and performs.
