POLICE officers went to the rescue after reports of a swan on the loose on a 60mph road in Stanway.
Two officers were called to Warren Lane, in Stanway, after reports of a highway disruption.
When they arrived they found a young swan walking in the road, which was a 60mph zone.
Drivers were having to swerve to avoid the bird.
The officers managed to safely capture the swan and took it to a nearby vets for it to be checked out before its release back into a suitable habitat.
