Following the news, managing director of Global Moto, Luke Gregory, confirmed the store will close at the end of the year to allow the business to “focus on some growth opportunities ahead”.

He added that moving forward Global Moto will “invest more deeply” in “core stores” and make plans for its large-scale distribution network, Lukas Distribution.

It was also noted that Global Moto is no longer partnering with the vehicle manufacturer, Piaggio Group, due to reasons the business “cannot discuss publicly”.

Mr Gregory said: “After careful consideration, we’ve made a strategic decision to close Colchester Kawasaki at the end of this year, allowing us to focus on some growth opportunities ahead.
