With Bonfire Night just around the corner, many places in Essex are gearing up to light up the skies with special events.

Here is a list of all the fireworks displays in and around Colchester. 

Castle Park 

Already in its 53rd year, King Coel’s Kittens are hosting another fireworks spectacle this year at Castle Park. 

Promising “an absolutely fantastic show” the fireworks display will take place on November 5. 

Gates are opening at 5.30pm, with entertainment lasting until 7pm ahead of the guy parade and the fireworks at 7.30pm. 

Tickets are available online for adults at £13 and children at £7. 

Nayland 

A night of bonfire and fireworks is taking place at Nayland’s Village Hall in Church Lane on November 5. 

Delicious hotdogs, fish and chips, ice cream, as well as hot and cold drinks care for creature comforts at the event. 

Limited parking across the village and disabled parking spaces at the village hall are available and guests are advice to arrive early to ensure a space. 

Tickets for the event are on sale at Nayland shops and online at https://naylandevents.org, priced at £6 for adults and £2 for children. 

West Mersea 

The Waldegrave Family Holiday Park is lighting up the skies above Mersea with their annual, free display on November 9. 

The display will be accompanied by hot food stands, a bar, live entertainment, children’s rides, and more. 

Gates will be open at 5pm with the fireworks setting of at 7.30pm. 

Car parking on site is available for £10 per car with cash only, however, parking is limited and early arrival is encouraged to avoid disappointment. 

The money collected throughout the night will be donated to local charities. 

Kelvedon 

The village’s St Mary’s School PTFA has organised a special fireworks display to take place on Saturday, November 9. 

The event will see hot food, sweets and treats, hot drinks, as well as games, a raffle and glow toys offered on the day. 

Tickets for the school’s firework display are available in advance for £7 for adults and £4 for children, with further tickets, subject to availability, sold at the gate for £9 for adults and £5 for children. 

Doors will open at 5pm on Saturday with the display starting at 6.30pm. 

Coggeshall 

The annual St Peter’s Fireworks display in Myneer Park will take place on Saturday, November 9. 

While the skies are being lit up, guests can indulge in drinks and hot food from the bar and barbeque, with stalls and glow sticks also available on site. 

Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance for £7.50 for adults, £4 for children, and family tickets for two adults and two children at £20, which can be purchased online or at The Normans sweet shop in Stoneham Street. 

Further tickets, subject to availability, are sold on the door. 

Guests will be let in between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, with the display starting at 6pm. 

Stalls will be closed from 5.45pm onwards to allow volunteers to enjoy the festivities with family and friends.
