A WORLD famous rock band has been confirmed to play an open air concert in Colchester next summer.
Texas will be part of the Colchester Castle Summer Series with a huge show on August 21, 2025.
Following their critically acclaimed, sold-out UK arena tour, Texas will bring their popular show to the city centre, along with special guests,
Fronted by Sharleen Spiteri, the iconic band will showcase five decades of music from the worldwide classic I Don’t Want A Lover to the modern hits of Mr Haze and Keep on Talking.
Organisers promise the Colchester Castle Summer Series to be “the largest music event the city has seen in years” with each show expected to see up to 10,000 guests.
They said: “Next summer, the historic Colchester Castle Park is the setting for a huge, new series of open-air concerts, the Colchester Castle Summer Series.
“This unique celebration of live music promises to deliver unforgettable performances in the heart of one of England’s most historic and scenic locations.”
The team behind the event, promoters Soundcrash and Supermodified, are well-known in the UK for hosting popular events like the Margate Summer Series, London’s South Facing Festival, Hitchin Priory Series, and Cardiff Bay Series.
Craig David and UB40 have already been confirmed as further headliners for August 16 and 17 respectively, promising a one-of-a-kind music spectacle.
Craig David will have special guests like Wes Nelson, 24hr Garage Girls, and Patrick Nazemi during his headline show ‘Craig David Presents TS5’.
It will also see the artist sing, rap, and DJ, as he combines a set of R&B, swing beat, garage, and house anthems.
Reggae legend UB40 is set to play as a part of the festival on August 17, 2025, with smash-hits such as Kingston Town, I Got You Babe and Red, Red Wine.
Special guests include Bitty McLean, Pato Banton and Trojan Sound System.
Tickets for the Texas will go on sale on November 8 at 9am at https://colchestercastlesummerseries.co.uk/ where bookings for Craig David and UB40 can be made, too.
