AN EMERGING musician from Colchester has released her new single.
Izzy Liddamore, 23, is a solo artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, based between Colchester and Cardiff, and makes music under the name of Generation Feral.
The songwriter released her new single Braincloud on Tuesday, November 5.
It features distinctive vocals, ukulele, spoken-word, and tells a tale about a drunken walk home and a desire to love again. It was also produced by Jonny Poole of Monster Florence.
Speaking about the single, Izzy said: “Braincloud is about two separate characters walking home from yet another hedonistic, sleazy night out.
“I really tried to capture that moment when alcohol lays bare our most repressed anxieties and fears, almost like some kind of unwanted autopsy of self.
“The characters have separate stories but are both weighed down by the people they wish they were – and it’s here in a dark park where their internal monologues are loudest, crying out to feel love.”
Earlier this year, the songwriter was picked out of more than 1,500 bands to perform at this year’s Truck Festival in Oxford.
It was a monumental experience for Izzy, and she felt “grateful beyond words”.
She has also supported fellow Essex band Pet Needs on tour and took part in the Colchester Art Centre’s Colchester Against Racism gig in August.
