AN inquest has been opened into the death of a 29-year-old who was found dead at a flat in Colchester city centre.
Benjamin Mateer was found at an address in St Mary’s Field in Colchester last Monday, Essex Coroner’s Court heard.
Area coroner for Essex, Michelle Brown, told the inquest Mr Mateer was discovered by his brother and formally identified by his father later that day.
She said: “Following a post-mortem a provisional cause of death was given as 1A hanging, pending toxicology."
