A MAN who racially abused a police officer who formerly served as a member of the royal marines, a court has heard.

Ahmed Kamili, 35, appeared before Colchester Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday accused of racially aggravated harassment and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

He admitted both charges and was ordered to pay £50 of compensation to his victim, Nicholas Skamballis.

Kamili, of Alefounder Close, Colchester, was also ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the next year and a six-month alcohol treatment activity.
