A mini cycling hub for residents with disabilities could be created in a Colchester park.
Wheels for All Colchester has proposed the new hub at the Old Heath Recreation Ground.
It would be a smaller version of the main facility at Colchester Sports Park, designed to serve residents in the Old Heath and New Town areas.
Ahead of consultations on the proposed hub, Jo Smith, Wheels for All coordinator for Colchester, said: "We hope these events will reach out to the wider community of Old Heath and New Town and give those that could not make our daytime event the opportunity to talk with us about our plans.
"If approved, our cycling sessions would take place once a week for approximately two hours, typically scheduled on a weekday in the morning during quieter periods in the park, to minimise any impact on other park users.
"These sessions would use slow-paced, adapted cycles to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
"We look forward to meeting with you at one of our upcoming sessions to discuss this exciting opportunity for Old Heath."
The proposal was originally discussed at a consultation event on October 22.
Further consultation events are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, from 10am to 12pm, at Old Heath Recreation Ground, and Wednesday, November 27, from 6.30pm to 8pm, at St Stephen's Church on Canterbury Road.
Councillor Natalie Sommers, portfolio holder for communities, heritage, and public protection, said: "Accessible cycling brings tremendous benefits to our community, from boosting physical health and mental wellbeing to fostering social inclusion.
"It has been especially valuable for people with disabilities, those recovering from injuries, and individuals with long-term health conditions who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy cycling.
"I sincerely hope to see more cycling hubs across Colchester, allowing even more residents to benefit from this fantastic resource."
Wheels for All is an "inclusive cycling programme" which embraces children and adults with disabilities and differing needs to engage in quality cycling activity, using adapted cycles such as handcycles, trikes, and wheelchair transporters to assist in building confidence and independence in cycling.
