A HUGE fire has reportedly broken out at the derelict building in Copford with multiple crews reportedly on scene.
Pictures shared from the site show flames tearing through the building off London Road, with large plumes of smoke visible from a distance.
One Copford resident said: "This is the biggest fire I have seen in my entire life."
"There's ten engines on site but no one is being able to get here. There are no water points. Because developers and roadworkers have been pulling them all from the river."
"Everything around is in danger. It is awful."
Essex Fire and Rescue Services have been contacted for updates, and crews are working to bring the blaze under control.
More updates to follow as information becomes available.
